Welcome to my personal website. My name is Paul Grünbacher. I am an Associate Professor at the Institute for Software Systems Engineering at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (Austria) and a research associate at the Center for Software Engineering of the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, USA).

My research interests include software product lines, model-based development and evolution, requirements engineering, and value-based software engineering. 

I am the head of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Monitoring and Evolution of Very-Large-Scale Software Systems, a 7-year research project co-funded by industrial partners.

Between 2006 and 2013 I was heading the research group on product line engineering in the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Automated Software Engineering at Johannes Kepler University.

I have published my research in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and workshops. You can find the publications at DBLP, Google Scholar, the ACM digital library, researchr.org, Microsoft acacemic search, and JKU’s FODOK database.

I’m an Editorial Board Member of the Elsevier Journal on Information and Software Technology. I’m regularly serving as a reviewer for international journals and conferences.

I’m a member of ACM, ACM SIGSOFT, the IEEE CS, the Austrian Computer Society, and Euromicro.
